ERROR MESSAGES

Error 58 - The compression buffer length is too short.

In the BTI.INI file on the options= line add /U:64 This will set your largest compressed record size in KB.
If you have a 32-bit setup program you will need to change the setting for compressed records to 32K

Error 20 - File not found

If this occurs while loading BtSearch then your Btrieve DLL files may not be accessable. Make sure that all files that begin with WBT*.* are in the windows\system directory. If they are located in a different directory and you do not want to copy them to the system directory then create a path in your autoexec.bat file to include the directory where they are located. If you do not have these files you will not be able to run BtSearch.

Error 3017 - Data buffer of local engine is too small.

You will need to increase your communications buffer in the setup program. Also make sure your extended buffers are at least 32000 also.
